“Saints are those people that just keep persevering”

Does living a faithful life of pursuing God’s Will for our lives, mean we must have a “boring” life?
If we are to live a life how God wants us to — joy, love, and virtue — we should bring our gifts that He has given us and share them with the world. All of the saints pursued God in different ways, but all of them left a tremendous mark on our world, a great witness. Some gave all of their life to prayer, some gave their life to serving, but all of them lived lives that were not “boring.” They found fulfillment in God and depended on Him with their whole being. In that, they found peace even if their lives were not, in a worldly sense, “peaceful.” They all loved seeing God’s creation and they took great joy in all that they were given. This is how we should live, too.
A Little Bit About Me…

Hello! I’m Sydney, a Catholic who loves learning all about the saints’ lives and sharing their stories. As an Air Force military brat, growing up I lived all over the United States, and even abroad in Izmir, Turkey for a year. Before we moved to another location, my family always tried to travel around and visit as many places around where we were living, as possible. A main staple to visit was all of the beautiful churches in the area. My family guides my towards God everyday and they are the best blessing I have ever been given.
A few things I love…I love cats and cows. A dream of mine would be to own a farm with a bed & breakfast on it. Going out every morning to milk the cow is definitely fantasized in my mind. I love cooking, but especially baking, when I get to share the food with other people. Taking care of plants has become a new interest of mine, so my roommates get to deal with all of the new plants I bring home. And if ever I have free time, you can probably catch me on a walk.
Other than running this hobby shop, I am a video editor and I have the great opportunity to volunteer at a local nursing home. The friends that I have made from these never cease to bring me many laughs and a lot of lessons. Although I am not in college, I am of the strong belief that learning should never stop after high school. I’m usually in the middle of three totally different books, but if you ever need a book recommendation, I got you!
I love traveling. Maybe it’s just the military kid in me, but I struggle to stay still in one place. My job allows me to travel around and visit my family who live all over the United States, and that is a huge blessing. A goal I have is to visit all of the 50 states in my lifetime, but right now the one I most want to visit is Alaska. Ooooooh it seems just absolutely amazing! My favorite state that I have lived in though, is Virginia, arguably one the most beautiful I’ve been in.
My patron saint is St. Gemma Galgani and, boy, has she had an impact in my life. I have truly seen her intercessions at work. I think everyone should have something that just gets them super hyped when they talk about their faith, and that for me, if you couldn’t tell, is the saints’ lives. Part of the goal in this shop’s endeavor is to bring the saints’ stories to life so that it is easier to ask for their intercession on a daily basis. What a marvelous thing to be able to learn about the people’s stories closest to God.
Sooooo…there’s a little glimpse into my life. Know that I am praying for all of the intentions you guys share with me daily. Let us live lives like the saints. All for the glory of God. Always to do his will in everything. God Bless!
One Last Thing
All of the saints, yes, they lived lives different from one another. They served the Lord in the way that they were called to. But one thing they all have in common is prayer, especially Mass and adoration of the Eucharist. It is literally Jesus coming to us. All of them did everything they could to go to daily Mass and to worship Him at church. So I would encourage you to try to make more time to visit Our Lord. He’s always there waiting for you and it’s a blessing to be able to see Him at any point in time.
